OTR Driver Job Description and Application

Truck Driver Job Responsibilities:

- Drive and operate trucks in a safe (65 MPH max), efficient, and timely manner

- Perform daily inspection and schedule preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and report potential problems to company personnel immediately

- Limp equipment in need of repair to nearby repair shops and be willing to do minor repairs to avoid roadside service

- Fuel at specific locations and avoid some tolls as directed

- Hook and unhook trailers almost daily, both empty and pre-loaded

- Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed

- Scan paperwork immediately for each assignment

- Pass DOT roadside inspections with flying colors

Truck Driver Skills and Qualifications:

- CDL – Class A

- English language proficiency

- At least 10 years of tractor-trailer driving experience

- Able to meet all standards (medical, safety, etc.) required by the DOT

- Able to pass random hair sample drug tests

- Tanker endorsement preferred

- No DUI/DWI convictions

- Strong communication skills

- Ability to perform job responsibilities with ease
